Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP, which stands for Platelet Rich Plasma, is a non-surgical and drug-free way we treat joint pain, neck and back pain, arthritis, sports injuries, neuropathy, or tendon and ligament injuries such as ankle sprains.
PRP is a regenerative medical treatment which involves using a patient's own blood cells to stimulate natural healing in a specific area.
The process of PRP therapy typically involves the following steps:
Blood Draw: A small amount of the patient's blood is drawn, usually from the arm, similar to a routine blood test.
Centrifugation: The drawn blood is then placed in a centrifuge, a machine that spins at high speed to separate its components. Centrifugation separates the blood into different layers based on density.
PRP Collection: The layer of plasma that contains a higher concentration of platelets is collected and isolated from the rest of the blood components. This plasma is known as "platelet-rich plasma.
Application: The prepared PRP is then injected to the targeted area of the body to accelerate healing of injured joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
